Meet Adrian - New Vehicle Sales

It's a great environment here, my dealership is owned by a family so they understand that I have one too.

There might be a perception out there that we sit around waiting for someone to come in the door to make a sale. It couldn't be further from the truth, I'm out and about, seeing customers and taking photos at Takapuna beach of the secondhand vehicles. It's why I love it; I'm not welded to a desk.

"I've had other desk bound jobs and didn't love them.
This job is all about people."

Toyotas are great cars that people buy to take them through their next 20 years. Those customers then refer their friends for those 20 years.

I started as a groomer and it proves that if you want to grow you can. I've been 8 years here and love it, there's always a bit of banter with the team.

This job is all about people. Toyotas are really great cars that people buy to take them through their next 20 years."

Is Sales for me?

What are the hours like?

If you’re looking for a 9 to 5-er, sales probably isn’t for you. Weekends and evenings can be busy because that’s when your customers are ready and keen to talk to you. The upside is, you’re not stuck at a desk all day, you’re meeting new people and there’s plenty of flexibility so you can work from home.

What kind of people do you look for?

If you’re career-minded, self-motivated, have enthusiasm and drive and know how to build relationships, you’re the kind of person we’d love to talk to!  All kinds of people buy Toyotas and it takes all sorts to sell them. We’re always on the lookout for keen young people and locals who know and love the communities we work in. A lot of people don’t realise that we have a lot of women working in sales and they do very well!

Do I need experience?

If you’ve got what it takes we’ll help you get there. It can take a while to build up a customer base and skills, but you’ll get world-class training and plenty of mentoring and support. Previous customer service or sales experience would be a real advantage but not essential. If you’re the right person, you’ll get everything you need to really make a go of it.
