We believe in the same things most Kiwis do

One of the great things about working with Toyota is that it doesn't need much introduction. We're as Kiwi as you are. We've been the leading car manufacturer in New Zealand for more than 27 years, and in that time we have become one of the best known, most trusted and biggest-selling brands in the country.

Our Story

Toyota in New Zealand is made up of locally owned dealerships, our corporate sites in Palmerston North and Auckland and our Signature Class plant in Thames.  We are owned by Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan but are very much a NZ company.

We are really proud that year after year we keep earning our reputation for quality, reliability and for being part of the local community.

A career with Toyota could mean working in one of the many dealerships around the country, at our corporate head office in Palmerston North, at Toyota Financial Services in Auckland – or refurbishing vehicles at our Signature Class plant in Thames.

Toyota Dealer Network

We have an extensive network of Authorised Toyota Dealers throughout the country that provide Toyota customers with the complete package, with finance, insurance, new and used vehicles, new and used parts, WOFs, accessories, warranties and service plans.

All New Zealand Authorised Toyota dealerships are independently owned and operated businesses who meet rigorous franchise standards of service to ensure we continue to provide exceptional customer service.

Signature Class

Toyota New Zealand also imports used Toyotas from Japan and certifies them to specific standards at our Thames Vehicle Operations facility. These, plus our ex-lease Toyotas originally sold new in New Zealand are refurbished and sold as Signature Class.

We market both vehicles under our Signature Class brand. We're always on the lookout for great candidates to work in the facility in Thames - why not drop us a line if you love Toyota and live locally?

Toyota Global

Toyota is the world's second largest manufacturer of automobiles. We're by far the largest Japanese automotive manufacturer, producing approximately 10 million vehicles per annum, equivalent to one every 3 seconds.

One of the secrets of our success is the 'Toyota Production System'. The system is based on the principles of Jidoka (automation with a human touch), Just-in-time and Kaizen (continuous improvement). It's a major factor in our success, and underpins all our operations across the world. Learn more about Toyota Global
